It's embarrassing when they can't even keep their lies straight.

First, there was Bill O'Reilly, encouraging terrorists to blow up San Francisco's Coit Tower:

And if Al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it. We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead.

Then there was Bill O'Reilly, making sure everyone knew he wasn't joking about that:

I mean, look, everybody knows what’s going on there. What I said isn’t controversial. What I said needed to be said. I’m sitting here and I’m looking at a city that has absolutely no clue about what the world is. None. You know, if you had been hit on 9/11 instead of New York, believe me, you would not have voted against military recruting. Yet the left-wing, selfish, Land of Oz philosophy that the media and the city politicians have embraced out there is an absolute intellectual disgrace.

HOST: First question, do you stand by what you said?

O’REILLY: Of course I do. I mean, it’s ridiculous.

And now that Bill is at the centre of the shitstorm? Well, look here:

Tonight "The O'Reilly Factor" is on ...

Bill O'Reilly takes on the orchestrated campaign organized by left wing critics who have whipped up controversy about his satrical riff on the city of San Francisco.

"Satirical riff"? Ah, the Pete Rempel "I was only joking, really" defense. Yeah, we should have seen it was a joke all along.

AFTERSNARK
: Oh, look. Here's someone who just didn't get Bill's joke.

Ya know, Pete, the last thing I need right now is someone who insinuated that I was surfing the Internets for barnyard sex acts lecturing me on the subject of "grace."

If you know what I mean.
