"Make a dick of myself? What do you mean?"

Sometimes you can only lean back and wonder what the &@$%*&^*#* they were thinking. Like here, where bow-tied, right-wing doofus Tucker Carlson is going to, starting in August on MSNBC, host his own show -- a show that, because of its time slot, will compete head-to-head with (wait for it ... wait for it ... here it comes ...) Jon Stewart.

Words fail me. Really.

SLIGHT OOPSIE: Upon more careful reading, Carlson's show on MSNBC won't be starting in August, it will simply be moving from its current slot to the "Let Jon Stewart Kick me in the Nads" 11 p.m. slot.

I'm assuming the end result will be the same.

I like watching Tucker. Since he is a conservative (in the modern sense), his views often are wildly at odds with mine, but I appreciate how he tries to put some thought into it. Instead of Oreilly's blame game, I sometimes get stuff from Tucker. New ways of seeing the situations, that sort of thing.

Sweet, more ammo for TDS.

Well..take heart there are only a few more channels, shows and changes he can work though before finally he is labelled "not for television" altogether. I give it .5 to 1 season tops unless the folks at MSNBC give pity ratings or maybe this is a mercy killing (quick and relatively painless)? We'll have to see.

I'm just wondering when these right-winger news-talk shows will eventually devolve to something resembling "You can't do that on TV" (anybody remember that gem from CBC?), where when somebody disagrees with O'Reilley, or Tucker or whomever... they hit a button and a bucket of greenslime empties upon the guest's head to piped in laugh track and applause.

it's coming...

I feel like I should eat popcorn and watch the nielsens. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, though, as JS points out, there's more important stuff at stake.
