Tom DeLay, realizing he's crossed a pretty significant line.

So, even if the occasional commenter doesn't see the problem with subtle threats against federal judges, it's amusing to note that Tom DeLay himself clearly realizes what kind of trouble he bought just by being his typical asshole self.

From this piece over at AmericaBlog, we have DeLay quietly vanishing from the list of keynote speakers at a conference. Yeah, right about now, perhaps the last thing DeLay needs is to be a keynote speaker at a conference on "The Judicial War on Faith."

It's hard to believe there really are people who condone threatening federal officials but, hey, they're out there.

AFTERNOON UPDATE: Apparently, Tom "The Bugman" DeLay isn't the only one getting cold feet over being linked with a bunch of anti-judiciary lunatics. Over here, we learn that Senators Brownback and Coburn have suddenly discovered scheduling conflicts or something. Given that Wankfest 2005 starts tomorrow, one wonders just how many others will find better things to do between now and then. We'll keep watching the guest list.

In the meantime, you have to enjoy watching what happens when you suddenly shine a light and watch the roaches scurry for cover.
